Sheik, Zakir is in ICU. Acute tuberculosis . Critical stage. Infection has spread beyond his lungs. His kidney also affected. Throat developed ulser. Hardly can eat. Right now his weight is only 45 kg. The hospital discourage visitors. Zakir is quarantined in a cleanroom. People who enter must wear full suit with mask. Wire is all over his body. His days are numbered.
It’s like being strucked by lightning to hear about my comrade: CAPTAIN MOHD ZAKIR BIN ABDUL KADER. Royal Malaysian Airforce pilot. He is a father of two.
Suspected got his TB masa fly overseas (but his peers not sure from which operations). He once was involved in a rescue operation – retrieving Malaysians trapped in Iraq during US invasion. He and his crew flew Charlie C130 to Jordan while Tentera Darat S&R team mobilised Malaysians through jalan darat from Iraq to Jordan.
One by one my comrades passed away and now another one is battling for his life.
1. 1993 – Rahman (nick: Rahman Sihir) – died of heart attack while swimming at Pangkor beach.
2. 1994 – Abu Bakar (nick: Burn) – died of bone cancer.
It’s Allah will. Then it shall be written. We have no idea what lies before us. We pray for the wellbeing of him and his family. Right now all Jasin comrades is trying to set up funds to aid his family. That is at least we can do for him. For the sake of old times.
He is one of our Commander of The Operation masa sekolah asrama dulu… i was in reconnaissance unit at that time. We have several Cells operated interdependantly, buat macam-macam kerja budak nakal.
Next time, i will tell why we call ourselves comrades. We’ve gone through a lot of things during boarding school period.
